This meeting will bring together ENVSEC National Focal Points, government officials from South Eastern Europe and resource partner countries, representatives of academia, civil society and business, and other relevant regional stakeholders. A launching pad for ENVSEC in light of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the meeting will focus on regional priorities and strategies, present achievements, lessons learned and challenges, and on leveraging synergies in South Eastern Europe.

ENVSEC was founded in 2003 to strengthen national capacities, regional coordination mechanisms and international cooperation for environment and security risk reduction. Since then, ENVSEC has developed into a unique multi-agency programme operating in the regions of Eastern Europe, South Eastern Europe, the South Caucasus and Central Asia. ENVSEC brings together five international organisations with specialised but complementary mandates and expertise for holistic solutions: OSCE, UNDP, UNEP, UNECE and the REC. The meeting will gather ENVSEC National Focal Points, officials of the Governments of South Eastern Europe and resource partner countries, representatives of academia, civil society, business and other relevant stakeholders of the region. A launching pad for ENVSEC in light of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the meeting will focus on regional priorities and strategies, present achievements, lessons learned and challenges, and leverage synergies in South Eastern Europe.
